So I have a question, I have an Ipad, my roommate has an Iphone, we have an Apple TV and then our computers.

Our Ipad/Iphone/My Computer can all airplay with itunes, however his itunes does not have the option.

Does his computer need to have home sharing turned on with my apple ID? Or is something else going on here.

airplay doesn't require an apple id

how is everything connected to the network? wired/wireless?
mentally trace the network path from each computer to the appleTV and see if there is anything different.

try rebooting everything including your router and network gear.

if that still doesn't work, on the appleTV go to settings->General->network. you want the IP address (you just want the series of 4 numbers) try pinging that address from the computers, (on a mac, go to applications/utitlites/terminal and type in "ping #.#.#.#" or windows, hit windows-r, type cmd, then type "ping #.#.#.#")
