AirPlay Icon Missing in iTunes - Yosemite

I've googled and tried... and tried... what am I missing? AirPlay works from my Windows machine to Apple TV, but no AirPlay icon in OS X iTunes... wtf?

Admittedly, I've had a couple beers this morning, so... what am I missing?

Have you tried resetting everything? SMC Reset and Reset the Apple TV through the menu or long down + menu button press?

Working now, but I don't know why.

I disabled IPv6 -- which was the solution for Windows. Rebooted the ATV and rebooted the Mac. Icon is there... for today. It will disappear again in the future, but for now, the music plays, beer drinking continues, and all is right with the world.

Is everyone else enjoying Apple Music and Beats 1? I was skeptical at first, but it's turning out to be fantastic.

Carry on the party!

Sigh....

Just tried it on my machine. Icon disappears when I play beats1. Pops back up when I go back to my music.

I can still AirPlay my Macs sound from the menu bar at the top. Not a very good solution though because ALL the sound is AirPlayed not just iTunes.

Option click the sound icon.

Why doesn't that whole menu just appear instead of that useless single-function slider?

Tell me about it. When I first got a Mac a couple years ago and learn that option click was a thing I went on an option click bender to see what else worked with that. Try it on the wifi and bask in the information you get, hover your cursor over neighbors wifi.
