Airplay ipad to mini

I was trying out airplay to mirror my ipad mini to my mac mini using reflector app.
It mirrors the ipad moderatly smooth but youtube videos are totaly unwatchable. Audio off and choppy.
Is this normal?

Sounds about right. iPad is having to render movie while also having to re-render the screen. Mirroring is not optimal for video (although it works a little better for Mac to aTV).
