iv been trying out airplay mirroring, so far, i was happy to see full 1080p without bars available. smoothness hadn't been impressive to me but i couldnt judge this for certain yet as iv been constantly downloading updates and files which im sure affects the quality.

now i'v discovered a new problem -

after i stopped airplay mirroring, the quality of my graphics on my laptop, have gone down!

everything looks lower in bit quality, i think thats how to describe it. looks like a GIF quality image, looks grainy and colours arent fading or blending smoothly.

anyone else experienced this?

im on a late 2011 MBP 15inch

the only way i seem to get the quality back, is if i turn airplay mirroring back on.

That's very strange. Have you looked at the screen resolution settings?

I have exact same problem with Airplay. And I have 15" MacBook Pro latest release. It has to be some kind of bug. Hopefully Apple will fix it soon.

Display resolution change

I found that after using Airplay on my MacBook I had to go into Preferences/Display and change Resolution back to "Best for built-in display".
(Airplay seems to change that to "Scaled")
