Hi!

I have a home theater system which i connect to my mba or ipad via 3.5mm, i want to use airplay function, but i couldn't find any cheap receiver, i wanna connect that receiver to my home theater via 3.5mm.
Is there anything that can help me? I don't wanna buy a whole new dock.
Or should i just get an ipod touch and use it as a receiver with some apps?

A little confused about what you are trying to do. Are you wanting to stream from iTunes on your computer to your home theater system? Audio only or Video? Sounds like you need AppleTV or Airport Express....

Yes airport express, u can set it up to join wireless network, and connect the hifi to it. The port on the express supports both analogue and digital sound.

I have an AE in my bathroom connected to a small stereo but when I recently added music streaming to my home office, I went with a used AppleTV(1) since it was about the same price (~$50) as an AE. I had a spare LCD with an DVI input that I am using to see what's playing. Even without a monitor connected, the ATV +remote gives you the ability to control what's playing. Best $50 I have spent in a while.
