EDIT: Scratch this. Phone is connecting to HomePod now. I rebooted the phone yet one more time and now magically it's behaving. So when in doubt, reboot, possibly many times until desired effect is achieved. 🤣

OP:
I have one HomePod (on 12.4) and an iPhone 11 Pro Max on 13.1.2. I cannot connect to the HomePod at all via AirPlay. It just sits there "Connecting" forever. I've restarted both devices a number of times now.

My iPad Pro on iPadOS is able to connect just fine. And I can also talk to the HomePod via the Home app fine on either device.

When this happens to me, even just turning the wifi off and then back on makes it work. Looks like it gets stuck in the connecting stage.
