Airplay Wont Work (iPad to Apple TV II)

For some reason I can't stream videos from my iPad to my Apple TV (new version). I made sure both devices were updated, and still, it won't work.

I'm trying to play TV shows purchased from the iTunes store and when I hit the AirPlay button and then "Apple TV" the show pops up on the screen but it's frozen. It just stays like this and never plays.

Any ideas?

i had to re-boot both my ipad and my ATV and after that is has worked fine.

yep, I rebooted and mine was fine too....
