Airplay

What the hell, If i turn off my ipod or iphone screen, airplay will no longer work, It will play the file i am seeing but won't go to the next one unless i unlock the screen. Is this how it is now or is it some sort of bug? Using Apple tv 2

I have a 3rd generation Apple TV and and iPhone 6 running the latest software version of both (7.2 & 9.0) and I'm encountering no issues air playing YouTube from my iPhone to my ATV

I just tried a playlist on you tube, I start a video and as long as a keep the screen on it will play the next video but if I turn the screen off it will not play the next video until I unlock the screen

Mine will also not move to the next video without me switching to the app even with the screen on. It won't autoplay without the app in the foreground.

For me at least it keeps air playing the video regardless of wether I'm in another app or have the screen locked. Don't know why it works well for me.

Yes it will keep playing the Video, it will not go to the next video if the screen is off or even if that App is not in the foreground. Itried with You Tube, Infuse and Stream To Me

Oh now I understand. I would have to test it myself but it's very rare for me to airplay a video playlist from youtube. I'll keep you posted.

Are you on ios9?what is the version of your Apple TV software? I am having trouble with airplay on my Apple TV 2 also.

Yes IOS 9, whatever the latest version of the Apple 2 software, Everything was fine yesterday on IOS 8. I haven't even gotten to the terrible battery life yet or Itunes 12.3 won't see my IPOD when i connect it. Lucky for me i recentlybought My Ipod 6 so I can call Apple for Free and yell but what do people do when complimentary device support ends ? pay just to talk to Support? this is BS!!

This seems to be an issue for me with all apps that need to switch videos. So if I start a video in HBO and switch out of it the HBO banner pops up but then it won't switch to the actual movie.

To make matters worse sometimes when I switch back it still won't play unless I scrub the video a little bit. This isn't typically an issue however with YouTube this could be an ad that you can't move the time marker so you need to close the video and reopen it.

I see this is an iOS 9 problem so I hate to do it but I left lower feedback with devs in the AppStore. Dev feedback gets priority when reporting problems to Apple. And yes I left feedback directly for Apple and once it's fixed I'll leave good feedback for the apps.
