Airpod case arrived with 1% battery

Hello. I bought the AirPods 2, new and original.

It arrived on saturday, and I noticed the case had only 1% of battery.

Is this normal? I am worried the battery was drained for too long and it might be ruined long term.

What type of behavior should I be on the lookout for?

Makes me wonder if they're a returned pair being sold as new, as that's not normal for a new Apple Product to arrive DOA in terms of battery life. Or it could be a bad battery OR simply that there was a fluke in the manufacturing process where they failed to charge them before packaging.

If it were I, I'd simply charge them up to max and use them like normal and see how the battery life is. If it's normal, then you're probably good to go.

My came with a low battery, not 1% low but pretty low. It was from amazon.

Also my Ultra came with a low battery as well (release day) low enough (under 50%?) that I had to put it on the charger to setup.

40-50% is all right as electronic devices are best stored at 50% of capacity (SoC).

In your case I suggest to ask for replacement.

I have used the buds for about 5 times. I’d say probably for around 4 hours of usage overall.
And of course I put them back in the case afterwards.

The case is as of right now sitting at 58%. I have been noticing that, after every use, the percentage of the case drops around 3-8% while charging.

Is that the norm?

It’s normal for some percentage drop of the case because the case is charging the pods (topping the pods up) while not in use.
