I thinking to buy the AirPods Max. I have questions on them.
1. Are they comfortable when wearing glasses?
2. Do they play Dolby Atmos sound in the streaming apps (Apple TV+, Apple Music, Disney+) with the Apple TV 4K (1st Gen)?
3. Is there any audio lag?
4. Are the comfortable for wearing them a few hours a day?
5. Is purchasing AppleCare a good idea for them?

1. I wear glasses all the time and I didn’t have issues with them

2. Yes, but for Apple TV spatial audio is coming in a software update this fall

3. Some users have experienced some audio lags. For me it works fine. Nothing a hard reset can’t handle

4. At first they weren’t so comfortable for me because of the clamping force. But after two days, it became much more comfortable. I can use it all day long without issues.

5. your call to make, they are expensive headphones. I personally decided to not take it, as they will never leave my home desk. But it’s a risk I’m willing to take, if I have an issue in a year it will be a very expensive reparation

Very good advice Wesd12345! I did buy Apple Care for mine, as I do plan to use them out of the house.

That said, I've worn mine for 3-4 hours at a time. But this is in an air-conditioned home. I don't think I'd be out strolling on a hot day with them.:)

In the end I am just thrilled with these headphones, and I am a bit of a headphone freak. Note: my wired headphones used with an external DAC and amplifier (two different sets) would be considered "mid-fi". But, I would say the APM headphones sound great, and to me have been well worth the money. I'm not tethered to my desk when I choose not to be.

I did add a silicon headband protector, and some neat carbon fiber covers to protect the aluminum ear cups. The look, fit, and work great! I've reported earlier no BT range issues at all.

Also the Winner Headband cover:

There are two styles from Monocarbon, I got the Forged style vs the braided Carbon Fiber style.

1. Are they comfortable when wearing glasses?

Very much depends upon your individual head shape as well as the glasses you'll be using with them.

It was a major non-starter for me as my head slopes ever so slightly inward at the ears and thus there is a gap between glasses stems and head and the APM put a lot of pressure on right there.

YMMV

A "must try it yourself" situation for sure.

1. I wear glasses that have pretty thin stems, but there is very little discomfort. Put it this way–I used to own the Bose Quietcomfort II's, known for being super light and comfortable. AirPods max are as comfortable, just a bit heavier.

2. Can't speak to the Apple TV thing, don't have one.

3. No lag for me.

4. I wear them for several hours each day. The fabric cups actually ventilate better than leather (IMO) so they don't run super hot, and the clamping force is pretty even.

5. I wouldn't purchase AppleCare simply because the majority of use-cases are in relatively safe environments. Apart from water-resistance, these headphones are pretty sturdy.

Atmos compatibility with AppleTV, Apple Music and HBO Max. Nothing else at this point.
