Make sure you put the AirPods in your ears and they are connected to your device. Then go to settings, general, about, scroll down just past your EID number and whatever you named your AirPods will show there. Tap that and it will list the firmware and other details. If the AirPods aren't connected to your device then they will not show up in the settings section.

This is a hit or miss now it seems. Sometimes I would see it, sometimes not.
