It’s posted on the main page, but haven’t seen it posted in this section of the forum yet. Version is now 2B588, up from 2B584.

I’ve not noticed anything different, wasn’t having any issues previously though.

Any improvements in call quality? My voice dictation seems a bit better so not sure if voice call quality is also better?

It sounds to be me like they tweaked the EQ in this is firmware.

I found them very mid range heavy on vocals and guitars and found myself using the Latin or jazz eq to smooth out the mid range frequencies.

Today when i was listening I thought i might turnoff the eq to see if they changed the eq profile and to my surprise it was set to flat.

I must have turned it off at some stage and to me it sounded very pleasing and not at all mid heavy and maybe even a bit more in the bottom end.

What do others think?

I’m hoping this resolves my 5 day old APPs since it’s been disconnecting the right Pod after being in the case charging the last 3 days every time. I’ve already reset network settings, unpaired and rest the pods in the case and repaired. Works initially and back in case (from iPhone or S4 Nike+) and back to failing.
Really annoying and surprised Apple is having such issues as a few others have mentioned this yet with the left pods

How is the BASS ? I hope it is not Toned down with the Firmware Update ? Or is it also ?

My Main Complain with Airpods earlier version, it just did not have enough BASS !!

It seems to have a bit more bass and less harsh in the upper mids

You are saying this in general even before the Update right out of the Box when it comes ? Or are you saying after the Firmware Update it has started sounding more BASSY ?

No I’m saying with this latest firmware update today the bass seems to be a bit more enhanced than they were when I first got them out of the box.

I actually didn’t think they sounded better than the gen 2’s but now i do

to me it seems like they’ve punched the bass a bit and pulled back the harsh upper mids

i also don’t always like the adaptive eq when anc is on as it reduces low frequencies on your ears.

This can be a good thing for prolonged use but I like it bassy

one other good thing with adaptive eq is with a bunch of mid range vocals and backups it can clean all those frequencies up in your ear

Adaptive EQ is an Airpod Pro thing ? Or Setting that comes in Apple Music ?

Yep it’s built into the AirPods pro not Apple Music

quote,
Adaptive EQ, which “automatically tunes the low- and mid-frequencies of the music to the shape of an individual’s ear” and a custom high dynamic range amplifier that “produces pure, incredibly clear sound while also extending battery life.”

There’s a new custom sound driver, too. All these things should produce significantly better sound than regular AirPods, though we’ll have to see how they fare against other similarly-priced in-ear earbuds.

Adaptive eq works by the mics that are inside the ear. It listens and adjusts to suit the space and frequencies it thinks might need taming or enhancing

think homepods for your ears it always listens and adjusts the sound based on its surrounding environment

Did the update mess up the pop up window when you open your case before taking out your pods? It rarely pops up for me now, and it will only pop up once out of 10 ten times.

I just swapped my pair today for other issues and it updated while charging, so I’m not sure if it is an issue with the case or the software? Can someone please confirm?

thanks!

I think the update fixed something about QI charging. Before, I had issues getting it to charge on my Nimble charger; I had to align it just right and it took several tries. Now, it charges much more reliably first time I put it down.

its a plecedo they said the same after the firmware it just fixed charging issues, AirPods 2 still sound louder and more punch
