Supposedly, you have to clean the vents with Blu Tack to get it to the pass the test again. Though some people have bad experiences with using the tack on the vents, with bits getting stuck in them. Don't know what to tell you. My own pair started failing the test two weeks after I got them.

Probably because the non apple tips don't seal well enough for ANC work. This also happens when the apple tips get oily and don't make a good seal with your ear.

The medium tips pass the fit test for me but are loose. I put the large ones in and they fit better but they fail the fit test.

Personally, I say forget about the fit test. Do they stay in your ear? Do they feel good? Then WHO CARES what the test says.
