I finally bought some AirPods (2nd gen) and have just started using them. My xs max is on the latest iOS12 and my iPad Pro is on 13.1 beta 2. The AirPods do not automatically connect to both, if I want to use them with my iPad I need to connect via Bluetooth settings. To go back to my phone I need to do the same. I thought the entire point of these was being able to seamlessly switch from one device to the other. My Bose soundsports work perfectly with both, they actually connect to both at the same time and have zero issues. What’s going on? Is there something I’m missing?

They pair to multiple devices but, you must pull down control center and tap air play symbol to connect each time you change devices. They don’t work like Bose. At least that’s the only way I know of.
