Hey all

As the title says I am having trouble with my brand new AirPods Gen 2. I have them paired with an 11 Pro and Apple Watch S4. I just barely got the AirPods 2 last week, coming from the originals that I have had since launch.

Anyway if I am playing something from my Watch, like a Podcast and want to switch to something on the phone, I notice the phone isn't activating the AirPods before it starts playing, it just starts playing from the phone speaker. I tried re-pairing them but that didn't really help.

I have tried to transfer sound both when my Watch is and is not currently playing audio and the problem happens either way. The phone will actually pause for a moment and I think it's going to connect to the AirPods but it doesn't and plays through the phone speaker.

If I manually switch to them from control center, that works fine. But it doesn't do it automatically like it use to.

I should mention that the ear detection on my left airpod has seemed kind of iffy since I got them. Like it wont always register when I take it out and the double tab isn't as reliable as on my right AirPod. Not sure if that is related but wanted to mention it.

Any ideas on how to correct this? Anyone else having this problem?
