I have a pair of AirPods and the volume is muffled and low. I have tried it on my phone and Mac with the same result. I have cleaned the AirPods and my ears. No change. Yes the volume is up. They are fully charged.

Also, I have reset them and did the usual "forget" and "disconnect" on my phone and no change.

I don't know if some liquid got into them to cause this issue or something else is causing it.

I ended up going to Apple and they ran a diagnostic test on them. They vaguely told me there was a problem with the buds themselves but the case was fine. I replaced them and got a new pair.

I wish I knew what the problem was and had more information. For the most part they work despite the low sound.

I find myself having to turn up the volume on my AirPods 2 pretty high as of late. I'm assuming my issue is because they're from 2019. Sounds like I missed my warranty window lol.

its very very easy to get this problem solved.

clean it, just put your mouth over the ear part (where the big sound come out, sorry for my bad english) and suck (dont blow) 30 seconds on it. and dont block the other holes with your finger, to let air in.
do it and dont laugh, after this write a big thank you because you got a total new pair of airpods for free because airpods will work same loud like day 1 !!!!!
