I have AirPods Pro and gen 1 Airpods

already replaced AirPods gen 1 once a few years ago because the battery was abysmally bad after using them every day for years.

My gen 1 still have some battery life left and not as bad as where previous pair was when i was ready to turn them in but

I much prefer the H1 chip syncing so fast that I can answer a call without fiddling on my Pro airpods. But I dont like taking calls in general on it since the suction feeling works better for noise cancellation music listening to me than chatting.

and for casual use i prefer the regular AirPods. Costco has $99 for gen 2 wired AirPods and I’m thinking about picking up a pair. I know AirPods 3 are just around the bend, maybe, but they’ll also probably cost twice as much. Or maybe I should just ride out gen 1 Airpods for as long as I can until somewhat discounted airpods 3 come out. Not sure.

Thoughts?

Today I received a fresh pair of AirPods 2.

using my Sony xm3 headphones for music, but they are terrible for calling, and if I go to the gym while it’s 30 degrees outside, the Sony is way too hot.
If im gonna make a quickly round with the dog in the evening, it’s easier to just take the AirPods than putting on a big headphones.

I bought the Sony as a replacement for my AirPods 1, who died after 2 something years of service, and to connect to my guitar amp.

But I missed the mobility and flexibility of the AirPods, thought about waiting for gen 3, but I didn’t want to wait anymore, really happy with them

Still by go to earbuds. Just “upgraded“ to the Wireless Charging Case version and now just put them down on my Belkin Duo charger every night or two. One less thing to worry about.

I never get complaints from anyone when on calls and I like to watch movies/tv shows with them in bed. I’ll even use them with my AppleTV, thanks to the H1 making it easy to swap between all 4 of my Apple devices. Watched the whole new season of Bosch with them and a Mad Max marathon this weekend. Great for podcasts or music while working too.

I got me a pair last week too during all the prime day sales after my Gen 1 was crapping out and I finally replaced it. No complaints here. I would’ve love APP, but noise canceling while a nice feature and a perk, aren’t a dealbreaker for me. Saved a ton of $ too.

2?? Years after the release of this things, I’m discovering this automatic device switching, and it’s the best feature ever.

first world problem here, but switching manual when I wear my Sony’s feels like a hassle ?
