My left airpod (Airpods 2nd Gen) often doesn't connect with my devices (MBP 2015 & iPhone 7), until I take both my Airpods out, place them back in the case and wear them a second time.

This is peculiar, because other than this my Airpods work perfectly. Once I re-insert them, there are no audio issues, battery degradation, connection drops, etc. It's actually working quite fantastically.

Just this strange issue where most times, the left one specifically doesn't connect at all until I re-do the entire putting them back in the case and wearing them process.

Thoughts?

Try cleaning the bottom of the airpod and the inside bottom of the case with a bit of contact spray. Spray the contact spray onto a Q-tip and use that to clean the bottom of the airpod and the inside part of the case where the airpod hits the contact charge. That fixed a similar issue with me.

Thanks. Going to give that a shot. My Airpods case is now beginning to get visibly dirty on the edges, I should just give the entire thing a nice solid clean.

No problem. You can get the contact spray off of amazon. It really does wonders for connections on electrical devices. Just give it time to dry.
