I love my simple wired batteryless earpods, especially because they have volume control which I use all the time. This is why I never liked the AirPods. The only downside is that I need adapters for my devices, which is becoming pretty annoying. I’m now looking to buy a pair of AirPods, leaning towards the gen 3.

- The fit of my earpods is perfect, do the AirPods 3 have a similar fit?
- If Apple ever decides to add volume control to the AirPods (let’s all hope so), will it come in a firmware update or do I have to buy new AirPods then?

Thanks

AirPods Gen 2 fit similar but are a little heavier than the earbuds so people have always said they feel a tad off. Volume control is a personal thing but there's multiple ways to adjust the volume depending on the device they are connected to so I've never cared for that feature. The new'ish Beats Fit Pro have it to where you can hold either side to increase/decrease the volume if that's super important to you and you don't mind that style of IEM.

I don't know. All ears fit differently. I was hesitant at first about getting the AirPods 3, but now I love it and use them everyday for workouts and listening to music.

I'd say there are some great deals out there. Try them. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Size-wise, they are a little different from good old fashioned EarPods.

Thanks! I don’t like to look for my phone every time I want to change the volume, and using Siri in public feels a bit stupid to me ? But I think I’ll have to get used to this because I prefer AirPods over other brands.

This is helpful, thanks! The AirPods seem much bigger than the earpods. I hope I can try the AirPods on in the shop today.

The airpods 3 are my most comfortable earbuds. I forget I'm wearing them at times.

EarPods are still the most comfortable imo. But AirPods 3 are not bad either. I often listen to sleep stories and fall asleep with them in my ears. :)

Wore my this week for all my workouts (running, elliptical, and weight lifting) and the AP3 sat comfortably in my ears and did not move. Very happy with them.
