So
  • if pop them in during phone call, sometimes they connect but most times they won’t
  • they reset head tracking settings periodically
  • they reset button preference periodically
  • people hear me extremely poorly (worse than my gf that has Airpods2, she also doesn’t have any other issues I’m having)
  • the annoying “click to mute” popup comes back periodically (probably when other settings reset)
I don’t want to set mic to only one airpod because it will kill the battery on it sooner. They’re genuine and about half a year old.
iPhone 13 Pro, updated to latest non-beta, Airpods 6A326
I’m wondering if i should just request money back if all have these issues and get something else (i think i can under EU law since they don’t work as expected)

Have you tried resetting them?
yeah, multiple times, and it always comes back.

I've send them in under warranty and will try to push for a replacement.
Considering getting the Pros but when i have anything in my ear it starts to itch as a mf, so i prefer buds over in-ears.

So under warranty, i handed them to an Apple authorised reseller (which is also an authorised service provider) and they didn't check for any of the software issues (settings retention and not being able to connect during calls) but they "cleaned them" and wanna charge me 25€ for it, despite the fact that i didn't even ask for it, and despite the fact that they were handled under warranty.
Apple Support first said that i take them to another apple service provider, but the first one is refusing to return them to me if I don't pay them for a service i never confirmed or ordered.

I've escalated the issue with both Apple Support directly and local trade inspection.
