Should i buy the Airpods 3 (190€) oder the Airpods Pro (210€)?

Airpods Pro will sound a bit better, they offer noise cancelling where Airpods 3 do not. Neither is much better imo, more personal preference

Not an audiophile by any means but the Airpods 3 sound great to me, love the spatial audio, huge improvement in sound over Airpods 2 (and 1). I don't have any desire for noise cancellation without over the ear & I like the 3s because I can comfortably wear them in public & hear my music but generally notice if someone is speaking to me. 3 took a while to get used to due to the shape difference from 1/2 vers and I guess I have small ears idk, but I don't at all like the deeper bud type of pros. Some people obviously feel the opposite

If you do not need noise cancellation, try the AirPod 3. They feel more comfortable in extended use and do not block me from my surroundings while sounding great with music. I have all of them incl. Max and the AirPod 3 are used the most.
When I need noise blocking in places like AirPlanes, tightly fitting buds like BeatsX or Flex or the Max work best with the buds the most comfortable over a long flight.

The ANC on the pros is surprisingly good for earbuds. Would they replace over the ear headphones for say a plane flight? No. But it’s not the easiest to walk around during the day wearing over the ear headphones for routine ANC. The flip side is transparency mode which allows you to be integrated into your environment extremely well, and with conversation boost, can even improve sound quality for those with mild heating loss.

As to fit, I’ve never been able to wear AirPods as my ear anatomy would not hold them in place. The APP were more a trial for me as I expected the same poor fit for my ears. They’re actually stable enough to run in, and for my ears, comfortable for long periods. As to being in ear, I used to wear Etymotics IEM with the triple flange noise isolating tips. Those were in the ear. These rest right are the entrance, not extending in.

Is it worth the 20€? If you want ANC with the transparency function, absolutely. If AirPods in general fit ok, and you don’t care about a little better fit for improved bass, and don’t need the other functionality, it’s not.

If you plan to listen to music, then they are both sound absolutely terrible. My advice is to buy a proper set of earphones.
Well, I hate walking around town carrying my dac, headphone amp, and HD 650’s with me. Obviously over the ear headphones outperform them. But we’re discussing APP and AP in general in this sub forum, so headphones aren’t really relevant to this discussion.

Ok, I’ll bite. What are earphones? Aren’t AirPods earphones? Are you saying don’t buy them period and buy ear buds from some other company? Or are you describing a different class of wearable device for music on the go?
