I am an Android user. I want to try the new hearing aid function on the airpods.
Can I configure this function on my wifes iPhone 16 and then just use the ipods independently for my own use?
Regards.

Yes you can as a trial but if you find that you like the Airpods and get on with them having an iPhone is obviously much better.

You can change basic settings like volume and hearing modes directly on the Airpods but not that much more without an iPhone.

Because so many settings like the amount of battery you have left are displayed on the iPhone they will work fine but the lack of an iPhone when you want to change a setting will be limiting. Even an older iPhone will do the job.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I understand everything you have said.
I simply want to assess the ipods before changing ship.
Many thanks.
