So, my AirPods and case were put in the washer. I realized it before the washer started churning, but not until the tub was full of water. They were at the bottom ...for at least five minutes.

Anyhow, the AirPods themselves are fine, but the case appears dead (no charging light and it's not seen by the Bluetooth of my phone). There was water leaking out of the sync button and the inside.

So, the case is in a bucket of rice now-but I'm not holding out much hope. It likely shorted out when I opened the lid to take out the pods. The light flicked orange for a sec, then nothing.

I know the rice method isn't the best, but I don't have any desiccant or anything like that. I'm assuming I'm SOL, so now I spend 70 bucks for a new replacement case-or I can just spend 160 for another whole new package. I'm still undecided on that.

On that note, I was wondering-can you use two sets of Airpods with one case? That way I'd have a set for rough use, and one set I could just keep by the bed. Or perhaps my wife may want to use one set while I use the other. Anyone have any idea about whether multiple pods can charge from one case?

You can charge multiple Airpods from one case. But if you have one case, the Airpods will eventually drain where you will have to switch them back and forth for charging purposes. I personally would just purchase another battery case and hope for the best the Airpods don't short out on you.
