Just installed iOS 11 on my 7 plus for the first time and its great. Been playing with my AirPods and they sound lounder, bassier and just generally better sounding. Anyone else noticed this or is it just me being crazy?

Did iOS 11 include a firmware update for the AirPods? That would explain something like that. Also, maybe the EQ settings for the Music app are different after upgrading?

Actually, the previous Airpods update (3.7.2) reportedly increased the overall volume and bass as well. Based off my usage, they seem much louder from when they first launched.

I haven't noticed a particular change in sounds quality, but I mainly listen to voice podcasts so not that surprising.

What I have noticed is a very significant improvement in responsiveness and reliability of the tap to play/pause feature; before ios 11 this was very unreliable and I'd regularly have to tap it several times before it would start. Now it goes first time every time which is great - even though I mainly use airpods with my phone which is still on ios10

I haven't noticed a change in quality - though of course I didn't even notice a change in volume as many have noted with the previous AirPod firmware update... I do LOVE the ability to change the function of the taps however, this seems like a key area for future additions/updates, such as triple-taps or something like that
