I am now on my 4th pair of airpods.

My 3 previous ones all had multiple replacements under warranty, but like an idiot I didnt buy apple care.

Bought the pros 4 months ago. Already had both pods replaced since they both broke in different ways.

Now I am waiting for another case, since nothing I do can get it to go into pairing mode.

I do use my airpods more than your average user, but it is ridiculous how fast they break.

/rant.

Really don't get how unlucky some folk are.

My gen 1 Airpods are still usable, albeit battery life is but an hour or so. Meanwhile my Pros seem be be just fine after 2 months.

Wife's in the same position.

That said, we both have AC on the pro's because you never know...

Can you share how they all broke? my first gen airpods from launch day in 2016 are STILL going and for the last year they have been abused because I use them as my disc golf / activity pair. So every day for about an hour to hour and half they deal with sweat, sometimes taking a nasty fall if im wiping my head / ears from sweat, etc and they are STILL going even thou they only last 45 minutes now.

My 2nd gen's that I bought launch day get used for work and meetings, still giving me about 5 hours of battery life and going like a champ.

My pro's from launch day havent had a single issue besides the firmware that ruined NC for a bit and now its back to almost normal. They get used about 3-4 hours a day for music and what not. Anything that is not sweaty activity like biking or disc golfing. Still no issues with them. My other half's pair is a bit newer but they haven't had any problems with theirs either and they use them ALL the time.

Definitely curious what your issues with the pro's are. I have friends that have real bad luck with technology and their airpods are the best thing they own but have had very weird software issues with iphones that even i dont understand how they happen

To be fair, earphones and headphones tend to be a very short life span product anyway. Before buying Apple earphones I considered all headphones disposable because they rarely lasted more than a year if I used them frequently. If I bought real expensive ones, I only used them on special occasions.

Just got my first pair, deal with a laptop and so far Im liking them. Though I keep hearing stories since I got them about issues which has me worried now. Thinking about getting protection

I'm feel I am very lucky.
I have a 1st gen pair (although from 2018), and they have served me very well.
I use them pretty much every day from anywhere between 30 mins - 2 hours +.
I've dropped them countless times and they are still working well.
The battery life is still around 3.5 - 4 hours per bud, although I am looking to get some pros soon.
