Here's my setup:
iPad Air 3 (Bluetooth off)
iPhone (Bluetooth off)
Apple TV 4 (Bluetooth on at all times, not connected to AirPods, but they're on the list of devices)
Macbook Pro 2014 (Bluetooth on at all times for keyboard, not connected to Airpods but they're on the list of devices)

When I want to use the AirPods, I toggle Bluetooth-On on my phone or iPad. When I'm done, I toggle it off. I noticed that every few hours I was losing 3-5 percent on the battery case, so I thought the problem was the case. Last night I turned Bluetooth off on my phone with the Airpods at 80 percent and the case at 85 percent. I left the Airpods out of the case. When I woke up the Airpods were at 17 percent on the left and 24 percent on the right and the case was still at 85 percent. So clearly the AirPods are the issue here. My question is if this is normal? I read online that it might be a common problem that can be fixed with a reset or a complete battery drain. I did both things and the issue persists. I did a warranty swap on the AirPods and the new ones do the same exact thing.

Im having this problem see below. Its almost like they drain when in the case and the phone is being used.

I have the Airpod 2s with wireless charging case. I feel like I have to charge them twice a week vs once with my first gen. The airpods themselves always charge and stay at 100 percent while in the case but if I leave them in the case while using my phone through out the day they (the case) drains 18% or so over a 12 hour period. Airpods still at 100%. I assume there is an issue so I decided to let them sit overnight assuming they would drain 18 percent or so not being used in the case. When I checked this morning they did not drain at all. The only difference is I don't use my phone at night. They do not show connected to the phone during the day when they are in the case.

I'm tempted to exchange them at the Apple store but since they don't drain overnight in the case when I don't used my phone im wondering if its a bug? Next I may try turning the BT off on my phone and use it through out the day and see if they drain at all.
