Just bagged a new pair of airpods. Love 'em !! Question about charging. Do they make use of USB-C PD fast charging ? is it even safe to put them on a 29w USB-C PD charger ? I don't have a 5w charger readily available.. Only either a 12w or a 29w USB-C PD

Has anyone done any tests using various chargers ?

Have you noticed that it charges them faster ? Has anyone done any kind of testing ?

As i'm an airpod noob, how long does it take to charge the case from empty to 100% Same deal with the ear pods themselves in the case... How many charges can the case give the buds before needing to be recharged ?

My AirPods case will only request up to 5W from my iMac, so that is probably the fastest it will charge. This seems to also be confirmed in the regulatory information:

It usually takes 30-45 minutes or so to fully charge the case from 0% in my experience.

The case can complete about four complete charges of AirPods before needing to be recharged (based on Apple's claim that AirPods have a listening time of 5 hours, or more than 24 hours including recharging from the case).

One other air pod noob question.. If i lost these, can someone else use them or are they associated to my Apple ID now ? and unless i delete them out of my iCloud account, they'll be useless to anyone else. Reason i say this, is it it worth putting my number on the case, in case i do lose them, the finder keeper thinks ooh these will do nicely, except when he tries to sync it tells him where to go ! maybe he'll think ah what the hell let me call the owner, since they're worthless to me.

You can see it in Find My iPhone, and you can make them play a sound if they are in range of your iPhone. But they're not iCloud locked, so if they were stolen anyone could use them.
