airpods connected to devices

I got mine a month ago and its always having issues staying connected. if I ever talk to text on my watch with airpods it disconnects all together. also it wont play about half the time when I put it back in my ear. what determines when it should auto play?

been disappointed in the connection and it just acting screwy a lot. is this common?

One or two people have reported issues with connections dropping but few and far between
