I am trying to decide on wether to go with AirPods. One of my concerns is the controls, how do you guys like the controls? I didn't even see how to adjust the volume. I like the buttons on my wireless beats, but love the idea of no wires.

I guess this is one of those threads I normally hate, convince me on AirPods please:)

The AirPods are extremely easy to use if you also wear an Apple Watch since you can control play, pause, skip and adjust the volume from the watch face. If you don't wear an Apple Watch you will need to use Siri for those commands.

Didn't think of that. I have a watch so that might work good. Thanks

Aside from what that forum member mentioned controlling through Apple Watch, you can also use your iPhone as well (Which I know is obvious), if you were in an environment where you could not hear Siri through the AirPods.

Which watch face controls the AirPods?

Works good from the watch, I use Casts for podcasts and the Now Playing app works great. Wish there was a complication for Now Playing though, but launching it from the dock works too.

Just add the Music complication to your favorite watch face and then use the -/+ or digital crown to control the volume. :)

All very nice, but it does not allow you to adjust the volume of a call. Can we please just have a quick reality check here Apple? What do we use an iphone for? (Hint: the key is in the name).
So I've got my new iphone, I've got my new airpods, and I've got my new apple watch, and yet I can only adjust a call volume by using the iphone?!
You cannot be serious, Apple. What happened to "It just works"?

You can adjust the volume from the watch, which is more convenient than the phone or through Siri

Maybe I need to spell this out. We are supposed to work and achieve useful results in life, and then sit on our backsides and enjoy listening to music. Communication is a key part of achieving useful results, and phone calls are a key part of that.

The fact that this obvious hole in the functionality is missing, is a symptom of bigger issue, that we, and Apple, have gone from focussing on work to focussing on entertainment. Well, I guess we may as well enjoy ourselves till China sidelines our economy.

P.S. I know why Apple will say its missing, but the bluetooth issues involved are surely surmountable.

Would pressing the Digital Crown stop/play your music (when in 'now playing' screen)or does it take you back to the homescreen?
Tapping my AirPods (or the back of my ear) to stop/play isn't always working for me at first attempt (or not so comfortable)

You guys are aware you can change each airpods double tap use? If you go into bluetooth and tap the airpods you can change the settings. I currently have my left airpod double tap play/pause and my right airpod double tap changes the song. I'm constantly showing people this feature at the gym lol
