I want a set of AirPods, but after several years of EarPods use, the EarPods shape just doesn't stay in my ear and is still uncomfortable.

So my question for all the experts here on MR is, if the EarPods do not work for me, should I not even bother to try the AirPods? Are they the same in-ear fit?

for me I think the airpods fit better than the earpods.... the only way to see is try them out. Most places have a good return policy if you dont lik the product . except best buy, if you do to many returns they stop taking things back but thats another discussion.

I think they’re exactly the same. The only difference is the wire on the EarPods can weigh down the whole headphone a bit or cause you to pull on it accidentally and make it more likely it’ll fall out.

If they feel like they fit well but occasionally fall out if you’re moving around, then try the AirPods.

Yeah the wires on the EarPods are one of the main reasons they can work themselves out of your ears. The EarPods fit my ear pretty well but just the natural movement of wires swinging back and forth as I moved around would cause the buds to work their way out of my ears from time to time. And if the wire caught on something, the buds would be pulled out for sure. Those problems are gone with the AirPods. The buds still rest in your ear, but there is nothing pulling on them. This helps AirPods remain much more securely in my ear. Give them a try! They’re easily the most convenient headphones I have ever owned.

They’re worth a try for 14 days at least.

Most people tend to say they fit better than Earpods, not worse.

Try them out & test them vigorously by running, jumping etc.

I think my AirPods fit better than EarPods.

They feel slightly bigger but I don’t know if that’s because they’re a tad heavier

The actual stem is thicker, so there may be a better ‘pinch’ (grip) because of a potential smaller gap between the stem & bud?

In my experience, the AirPods do fit better than the EarPods... it may have something to do with the weight/pull of the wires on the EarPods... but I have never experienced a situation where the AirPods fell out of my ears or felt uncomfortable at all - unlike my experience with the wired EarPods.

I’ve always had issues with EarPods. For me they become uncomfortable after a relatively short time, don’t fit well and can fall out.

With AirPods I was surprised to find no such problems. They fit well, are very comfortable and do not fall out.
