Hi

Ive had some AirPods Gen 2 since middle of last year.

A few weeks ago on the left AirPod the smaller mesh part went into the AirPods so the sound was very quiet or didn't work. Not sure how it happened.

I rang Apple and they sent a replacement AirPod, I followed the instructions and all I get is a flashing orange light, I even tried charging it for 30mins and then trying again as it says on the apple website.

No luck. I can take one AirPod out and the then I can connect to bluetooth and that airpod works, but the other airpod doesn't.

I have spoke to Apple, they are blaming me and said they won't replace the AirPods, but they are clearly broken and unusable.

Any suggestions? Or should I just contact Apple again and ask for a replacement airpod case and 2 AirPods?

I haven't sent back the original broken one, as they said they might replace the case, but then they changed their mind.

I did have a £65 charge on my card pending, but it seems to have disappeared.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
James

I would try to reset them. I'm guessing you left the new AirPod in the case because it might take more than 30 minutes to charge.

Tried that, no luck.

No I left it charging for 30mins cause that is what it tells you to do on Apple Website

I realize that it says 30 minutes but it's not like you have to take it out after the 30 minutes. They won't overcharge. I just keep my AirPods in the case all the time. I was just saying try a little longer just in case but I wouldn't hold much hope on that one. Maybe somehow when the one AirPod was damaged it caused the charging case to short out or something but IDK. Your best bet is keep bugging Apple. Sometimes you just have to be insistent on getting a fix.

Thanks, I have seen this happen to people on reddit, mainly with the Pro's being sent with different firmware, I have seen a few different posts from people who have said they have had replacement AirPods from Apple and it has caused their case to flash orange with nobody finding out how to stop it. Looks like the replacement AirPod Apple sent has messed up the other AirPods and the case.

I will chase up Apple for a new case and AirPods.

They are not being very helpful seeing as it is their fault
