Got the AirPods due to the hope the W1 chip would solve intermittent cutouts I get with generic Bluetooth headphones when doing yard work, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Was using them outside with the iPhone in my front pocket and knelt down and they paused due to a lost connection. Even has been happening indoors. Wondering if they’re defective? Was walking around the house listening to music and they’d pause. Earbuds were firm in my ear, thought maybe the proximity sensor thought they were removed?, but they seemed to be snug.

Anyone else experienced this?

Were you streaming music?

If so, could it be the wifi? Does it also pause (buffer?) when you're listening to the same content through the phones speakers?

I was playing music, but the music is stored on the iPhone. So it should not be a buffering issue. But thanks for the idea!

I also have similar issue with a phone call, so it kept dropping the phone calls back to the iPhone, but then would periodically reconnect AirPods. But then drop again so that’s why I’m wondering if there is something wrong with maybe the proximity sensor in the earpiece, and thinks it’s being removed but it’s not.
