So I’ve heard talk about AirPods “Lite” versions. Since Apple is going to USB-C, is it plausible that Apple might package some sort of wireless AirPods in with at least some of their iPhone 15 models? It would be great marketing and maybe generate a little more enthusiasm for an otherwise incremental update. Just speculation, but it would be a killer “one more thing” moment.

I think what you're looking for are wired EarPods... and Apple cut those from the box years ago!

Even the cheapest airpods would cost over 90$. Multiply that by 10 million. thats nearly a billion in lost revenue.
What they could do is indeed offer wired USB-C headphones, like they did before - but probably wont happen. Profit margin gotta be kept high!

Apple want people to purchase the AirPods, the markup on them must be huge! I don’t think we will see Apple package any type of headphones within the purchase of an iPhone again.
