AirPods - Losing sound on one side

Has anyone experienced this before? My right airpod keeps losing it's sound and by that I mean it is veeeery low. When I say it "keeps" losing sound, I say that because I have had it replaced probably 4 times (just the right one) and after a few weeks it happens again. I have never gotten them wet or anything so I am pretty confused and disappointed. I have tried all the fixes in settings and what not but nothing changes it. I was thinking about getting the AirPods 2 but I want to know if anyone had that problem and if they have switched over.

Seeing as it’s happened a few times - & presuming the case hasn't been changed - I wonder if the case is to blame here? I don't know how - Maybe some anomaly...

Only other thing I can think of is that you're listening to something that's emitting a frequency to the right Airpod that's impacting it? Maybe a third party App (not necessarily a music app)?

Maybe try & also get the case changed over with your next dud Right Airpod? Or just get the whole thing replaced.

Hope it's still under warranty? If not, I'd probably upgrade to the v2's.

Wow. I didn't think of that for some reason and it's a bit strange they never looked into that either. Seeing as though I have $150 apple gift card and have nothing else to spend it on, I think I may just upgrade to the 2.

Hm, it might be a hardware issue then. Sometimes dust and stuff gets stuck in the AirPod, so that’s where the toothbrush technique comes in handy. Try unpairing and repairing again, and if that doesn’t work, bring it back to Apple

You might try resetting your Airpods. First on your iPhone settings/bluetooth forget this device. Then on the Airpods, hold the pairing button down until the light starts flashing white. Then re-pair the Airpods to your iPhone and see what happens.

Try the above restting techniques... if that doesn't work... consider....

Maybe the left one is not communicating properly with the right one. Maybe there's nothing wrong with the right one at all, which is why you have the issue across new buds. Get a new left one, see what happens. Maybe you got some salty sweat in it or something.

My left airpod (second gen) occasionally lose its sound as well. This happens only when used with my iMac, with High Sierra. With iPhone XS it works flawlessly.
Such a bummer.

I've reset them and turned off automatic ear detection.

I read that the AirPods support bluetooth 4.0 and newer. My iMac has 2.1.

Maybe a bt 4 adapter would fix it, especially since it’s working so well with my XS.
