AirPods Lost mode?

Hey everyone. So earlier I was playing around with lost mode on my AirPods. Yes lost mode works. Though it doesn’t prevent from ever being erase and reuse as Apple lost mode say.

I don't think that is the intention of "Find My" integration.

AirPods are added to your AppleID via the paired device, but you don't add your Apple Id to AirPods like you do when setting up a phone/ipad/mac...etc.
