Just wanted to post this for those of you who are having trouble getting the Airpods & iCloud sync to work on the mac.
Logging out and back in to iCloud on your mac solves the issue.
It's also possible to pair the Airpods to the Mac like an 'other device'. Then you have to hold the button on the back of the charging case.
When I did this the pairing got strange. When I tried to pair back to my iPhone the pair screen showed up and said 'not your Airpods'. Also, the name of the Airpods changed. Had to go into bluetooth settings; 'forget this device' and repair Airpods at which point the name was the same as it was on my mba.
Aside from this I love this product. Best Apple product in the last 5 years (maybe even longer).
(And really.. Apple & cloud? We should've known... Lol)
