I just got my AirPods and paired them with my iPhone 6s. So far I am loving them.

Under some circumstances when music was paused or the sound was stopped and then starts playing again I hear a faint, brief, high-frequency digital static noise. It always happens when there is no sound followed by playing a new song, video, etc.

It seems as those it's re-initializing the sound since it was stopped but I was wandering if this happened in others AirPods as well.

That doesn't sound right. I would try pairing the Airpods with a different device and see changes anything. Process of elimination.

They do the same thing when paired with my MacBook Air. Heres a more in depth post I found on an Apple form regarding the same situation:

I just got brand new AirPods for my iPhone 7. I like them. Though I’m not sure if the following observation is normal. Under some circumstances, when music was paused and then starts playing again, I can hear a faint, very brief, high-frequency sort of “digital static noise” which seems to come only from the left ear plug. It seems to be some sort of audible re-initilization. It can be 100 % reproduced as follows:

1. I put the AirPods in my ears. The “welcome chime” sounds. Everything is normal.

2. I open the Music app and start playing. Everything is normal.

3. I pause the Music app.

4. I open the Music app again, wait 1-2 seconds, and this is when the short noise is noticable.

5. I start playing music, everything is normal.

6. Repeat at step 3 to reproduce.
