How did you download the firmware? I want to try on my AirPods Max.

My battery life is okay but I only listen for a few hours at a time. Most of the time it dies because it’s idle for too long.

I was told use the headphones for a minute then connect the charger into the headphones and wait 30 minutes, youll get a pop up letting you know the firmware has been downloaded.

I have the case but i dont use it maybe i should.

Interesting.
A apple agent recommended i reset the headphones and reset my iphone ill see if that helps.

Did it work?

On another note: Anyone notice the drainage getting worse? Mine dropped 48% in less than 24 hours.

Apple just allowed me to return my Maxes almost two months after I had bought them because of the battery drain while in the case. They first did a return and replacement, but then allowed me to return the replacement -- which was no better -- for a full refund.

They admitted that battery drain when not in use is a known issue for which there is currently no fix. Resetting, etc., does not make any difference.

What is unclear -- to me, at least -- is whether this affects everyone, or just some AP Maxes. The latest firmware update may have made this worse. But there are numerous reports of the drainage problem going back a long way.

I loved the AP Max in other respects. But I am quite pleased with my new Bose QuietComfort SC that I just bought on sale at Costco for about $225 as a replacement. I don’t think the sound and ANC are quite as good. But they are pretty good. And the Bose is a lot easier for travel because of its light weight and collapsible design. Plus it has an on/off switch!
