They should be taken in your carry on luggage. The FAA website states; “Devices containing lithium metal batteries or lithium ion batteries, including – but not limited to – smartphones, tablets, cameras and laptops, should be kept in carry-on baggage. If these devices are packed in checked baggage, they should be turned completely off, protected from accidental activation and packed so they are protected from damage.”

Thanks! My motive was based on that I had a 15 liter camera backpack that would not accommodate my camera gear and the headphones. I found one that will! Now I can fly with all my gear And listen to music and watch movies all the way to Yosemite and Scotland😃!

Great news you found a larger bag I would hate it if somehow your headphones got misplaced or stolen out of your check-in luggage!
