Can you use AirPods Max on a Mac that is not running Big Sur? I understand the initial pairing might not be instantaneous/automatic, and obviously no auto-switching, but would you otherwise have full functionality with Catalina?

Picked up a pair this morning... they seem to work fine with Catalina. To my surprise, when I got home and opened my MBP, they had already been paired automatically (after having paired with my iPhone). I was under the impression that this iCloud pairing feature wouldn't work in Catalina.

A little more info... in the sound menubar, it shows the battery icon as expected, and the submenu is there that lets you select noise cancelation modes (again, like the automatic pairing, this was surprising). However, I found one minor issue in the Bluetooth prefpane...

Looks like there is some erroneous carryover from AirPods Pro (the "Press & Hold..." options), but the checkboxes to control what the Noise Control button on the headphones, and the Automatic Ear Detection checkbox do work properly though.
