I am curious now that we should have several longer term owners (like a few months) and several more that have had them a few weeks, has the clamping force reduced with time? I am trying to find a good fit for my head, but there is a spot where the cup is against my head over the top of my ear that gets significant clamping force. When wearing glasses, it happens to squeeze the arms in the same spot. Did anyone else have this at first and then it subsided as the headphones broke in? For reference I wear a 7 3/8" hat, so my head size is exactly average (though obviously shape varies).

The overall clamping was a bit much, and posts here indicate it does loosen over time.

However, why suffer? I stapped the headphones over an Occulis headset, and in a few hours it was just right.

Mine did. I got a big head. And now it’s quite comfortable after a month of use. I wear a 7 3/4 cap. I use it a lot. I don’t feel the pressure as much anymore and it doesn’t feel heavy to me. But my cans on my PC are definitely much “looser”.

It did not change for me and I had them since day 1. It is tight as hell.

I can even see pressure marks from the pads on my head. So it is easy to tell if I have used the APM or not.

I have a Sonos Move that seemed just about perfect so I threw them over that overnight and it did loosen them nicely. Now to see if they spring back too much.

Metal has memory, so they will bounce back a bit. Which is a good thing, in case you go too far. But if you are wearing them a lot, it probably won't be a factor.

I've had mine since late December, and my pair are still a little too tight for perfect comfort. I also have a pair of B&W P7s that were super tight when I first got them that have since loosened up but took a while, so I have faith these will get broken in soon.

This lets you flex out in public while leaving them at home.

I gave up and returned them to the Apple Store. The clamping was way too much. I hope that they address this in the next version of AirPods Max.
