AirPods Max Digital crown click variability

I've just noticed that the sound and feel of the click of the Digital Crown on my APM varies a little depending on its rotational position, and where on the Crown itself I press. Ie, if I repeatedly click/press it with one hand while turning it slowly with the other, it feels and sounds different (sort of squishier, for want of a better word) at certain points in its rotation, and depending on whether I press it in the centre of the edge.

Doesn't feel like an 'issue' per se, but is anyone else finding the same?
