Does anyone know if there’s a possibility a firmware update could allow us to turn the APM on and off with one of the top buttons?

I mean the hardware is there. I was thinking it has to be easy enough to make the ANC/Transparency button configured to long hold press to power the AirPods off.

Hey Tim Apple … I’d be cool with a new job.

With the battery life these have, a power switch would be a big help in conserving battery. Having said that, they will never add one. In order to do the instant connect that the AirPods have, they have to be in stand by mode. Apple will never give up that feature.

If they added the option find my wouldn’t work with them.

It would work the same as it does with all of the other Find My devices that have the ability to be turned off. Last known location.

I see why they don’t do it. There are a lot of convenience features that take advantage of an always on device. However, allowing someone to turn them off does not mean one couldn’t choose to leave them on and have them behave the way they do now. I wish Apple would give the user the choice, but that is not at all how they roll.

No possibility. But now it actually goes to sleep and when I take it out of the bra case it’s usually at 9x% battery.
