Hello everyone!

I had Airpods Pro, happy, but I wanted also the Max for the office. Got them yesterday, my iPhone 11 Pro has 15.0.

Sometimes I get small glitches, like a microinterference, or microcut in some songs. I had Lossless set for streaming (I know Max are not lossless, AAC), and downgraded it to AAC just to be sure it was not that.

Kept happening. I restarted the Max, and still every 5 songs or so, microinterference.

I don't know yet if I download an album it will be better.

Any experience having same issue? Is this due to 15.0 not being stable? I didnt try with Macbook Pro yet.

No issues with my Max and all my devices are updated to the latest versions available to the public (non betas). Except with tvOS Spatial Audio when watching iTunes purchases.

But Apple Music playback has been rock solid as always. I don’t use lossless. Have you tested turning Spatialized Stereo on and off in Control Center to see if that might be causing some hiccups?

I am listening to Dolby Atmos albums, and non albums with Spatialized OFF.

Next to me, i have a macbook, a homepod, a homepod mini, and apple router. I want to believe this is no outside interferences.

Update: I had a big glitch now, I stood up to go to wc, and my Apple Watch unlocked the iPhone automatically (the covid feature).

So this time it was the iPhone OS creating it, not Apple Music itself, I feel (?).

I have experienced similar issues running the betas of iOS 15. No different in Beta 1 of iOS 15.1

It's probably interference. Do you have multiple bluetooth devices? If you aren't using them, you might try turning them off and see if it gets better with just the phone and AirPods. It also could be RF interference from radio broadcasts in your area.

I have the same issue with mine, but it only seems to be with my iPhone the iPad Pro works fine so far

I do have lossless turned off on my iPad Pro, it was switched on on my iPhone.
I thought it was a problem with the headphones

I’m still getting micro dropouts after the AirPods max updated, but only with my iPhone XS max
they seem to work fine with my iPad Pro

anyone else have this?

What is happening with me is that my APM have become super sensitive. If they move slightly on my head the audio I’m listening to (no matter what the source) stops. Sometimes the headphones reconnect a few seconds later and I can simply hit “play” again, but sometimes not. Frustrating.

That’s has stopped since the update for me

Dropouts happen on their own accord; I have learnt to ignore it. Experience it on both APP & APM occasionally

I’m now waiting for a replacement pair from Apple, fingers crossed I should have the new pair by the end of the week.

i just hope the new pair are better

Apple didn't replace them and after the headphones were with the repair team for less than 5 hours, they sent an email saying nothing wrong with them and they've sent them back to me :mad::mad::mad:
Guess I'll be heading back to the store

Hmm. I’ll be sending mine into Apple as soon as I get the box. I am worried that I will have the same result. Almost every time I move these things on my head I lose my connection. Sometimes it reconnects sometimes I have to do it manually. Frustrating.

It likely isn't a hardware problem, it's interference. Bluetooth shares the spectrum with 2.4GHZ WiFi. If you have a lot of smart devices that use WiFi, they could cause dropouts in your bluetooth stream. Microwave ovens, routers and certain kinds of fluorescent lighting can interfere too. Try turning off fluorescent lights and shut down your wifi for an hour and see if it continues. In an apartment where you're in close proximity to multiple 2.4 WiFi networks, you're just stuck. Use wired if it bothers you.

I have an open support case with apple at the moment for this issue. They have given me some testing to do with settings across my Mac and iPhone and iPad to try and see what is happening here. I’m getting this stutter at home and outside on cellular but only on Atmos tracks. Podcasts, audiobooks (through the Big Finish app) and lossless music is perfect. I first thought it was interference as I live in apartments but the fact it’s only atmos is weird but I’m hoping it can be resolved!

I use mine outside a lot so no interference and I don't have much in my home.

@bigshot sorry but when I pay over £500 for wireless headphones I want to use them that way

You can get the wire and hard wire the Max. That will totally solve the problem. If it’s just every now and then, you might have to live with it. If it’s constant, like several times a minute there may be a source to track down. I know I got lots of dropouts when I switched to Amazon’s high data rate audio. You might try using normal streaming if you’re using HD audio streams.

My issue is different. When I move the Max on my head to adjust I lose the connection to whatever device was the source. This happens whether it is AppleTV, iPhone or iPad. This only started happening recently. It is possible it is is 15.1 issue (I’ve been running the betas). We shall see.

That sounds like a loose wire on the antenna. I'd talk to Apple about that.

I got my Airpods Max replaced at the Apple store today, the ones work better. I only hear dropouts if I touch the iPhone, I don't get any so far when using my iPad Pro

Just got the air pod 3 and getting micro glitches on when using my iPhone X but don’t get them on my iPad mini 6, very annoying I’m going to the Apple Store today to see if I can swap them, I have reset them, reset network settings on phone, unpaired, tried with lossless off, downloaded tracks etc but still happens seems to be worse at the start of songs, happens outside too
