Anyone else notice clicking the Digital Crown on the AirPods max feels squishy/lacks a tactile click?

I own the Apple Watch and the click using that Digital Crown feels much more tactile.

Its hard to accurately put into words how it feels, but pressing the digital crowns on AirPods max vs Apple Watch feels very different.

I can’t imagine the way it feels on the AirPods max is intentional. Makes my skin crawl every time I press it. Is it meant to feel this way or do I have a defective AirPods max?

Anyone else with both an Apple Watch and AirPods max who can comment on their experience?

Yep, I have both, and the Watch is much more 'staccato' in its click. But it's also a lot smaller, so I guess it has tighter tolerance.

yeah its missing the feedback component, probably either due to cost/power requirements or combination of both. The default direction makes me blast the volume too easily lol.

The other button is pretty flaky too. You kind of have to press it in the centre, as if you press it at either end without sufficient force, it doesn’t work. In fact, it’s even possible to press it very gently in the middle and have nothing happen.

My issue with the crown is the lack of feedback at higher volumes and how sensitive it is. I wish it had a little more ‘friction’ (?). When I go to adjust them or press the flat button, I’ll occasionally bump the crown and I’ve either shot the volume way high or way low just by bumping it. That being said, I do like the crown more over my XM4s touch pad, which I have yet to nail down.
