Okay it’s been about a week now and no matter what I do it’s not updating. I’ve put it in the case, used the product normally, etc. but it’s still on the same firmware.

Do you think it’s because I am on iOS 15 beta 1 that it’s unable to pull the latest firmware? And is a case necessary? I’m tired of putting it in the case every night.

Putting in the case doesn't help it update (except maybe by 5 minutes) so you don't need to do that. That just puts them to sleep instantly. They still sleep without the case it just takes about 5 minutes of not moving.

It is likely a beta 15 bug and you will have to wait until it is addressed. Maybe in the next beta or so or it could be several. As a long time AppleSeed tester I can tell you that is just the nature of betas.

I only run early betas on secondary devices.
