Hello everyone,

I'm looking to get either the AirPods Max or the Beats Studio Pro mainly because I want the spatialized audio feature found in my AirPods 3 but in an over the ear ANC headphone form. Where I live in Spain, I was able to try out the AirPods Max at an Apple Certified Reseller in town. The sound quality with the spatialized audio and head tracking is amazing and the weight of the headphones wasn't an issue for me (granted I tried them for about 15 minutes). I know some people don't like spatialized audio/spatialized stereo but I LOVE it.

That said I've heard all sorts of stories of problems of condensation issues, connectivity issues, having to factory reset them, one cup not working, ANC issues, etc.

Are these headphones really that prone to issues or are the reviews I've been reading on Macrumors and Reddit really amplifying the real-world incidences where these go haywire and have issues?

I tried the Beats Studio Pro at a consumer electronics store in my town and they weren't available to try and pair with a phone to hear the audio quality. I will say the ear cups are some of the most uncomfortable I've ever tried. My ears hit the hard walls of the speaker drivers. At lest with some other headphones I've tried with shallow ear cups, the speaker wall had soft padding. That said, there seem to be less issues with the Beats Studio Pro and they check the boxes of having ANC, Spatialized Stereo, and Head tracking. I did hear that Wicked Cushions make replacements that are supposed to be thicker. I'm sure they would help the issue with my ears hitting the drivers but I'm not sure if it would totally remedy the issue to where my ears wouldn't be touching the drivers at all.

Has anyone with Beats Studio Pro tried the replacement cushions by Wicked Cushions that are thicker and can report back on whether they fix the issue of the ear cups being so shallow?

From the quantity of AirPod Maxes sold, I think MR and Reddit are amplifying the issues that do happen and make them seem more common.

I’ve never tried the Beats, but I’ve read their ANC doesn’t match the APM’s.
