So the AirPods Max in Canada are 900 dollars after taxes which is absolutely ridiculous.

Why are they charging way above the actual conversion rate?

Let's just say $779 CAD since that's the retail Canadian price and every province has different tax rates. For example it's only 5% in Alberta.

Canada isn't nearly as bad as other countries. Australia & UK is worse. Apple's prices are usually pretty dead on when comes to US/CAN pricing. Not so much for niche products like these though.

I assume it's because their main distribution centres are located in the US and Canada has higher import fees. For example we pay duties/taxes when importing something over $25. In the US they pay when it's over $800.

At nearly a thousand dollars I’ll be shocked if they can sell a significant amount of these things here.

Buddy of mine, was quick on the BUY button yesterday morning. He's scheduled to receive it by the 18th of December.

Money is no object to him and he buys EVERYTHING that comes out on day one. Biggest Apple fanboy I know.
