Hi! For those who have the Airpods Max, how’s the sound signature in terms of clarity and bass?

I’m particularly interested in how it compares to the Devialet Phantoms. I like how the Phantoms sound signature in terms of clarity and super duper deep and crispy bass but unfortunately unable to try on the Airpods Max for any listening tests.

if you’ve heard both, how’s similar or different is the sound signature between the two?

If you're looking for Phantom level bass, you're not going to find that in a pair of wireless headphones... or really any headphones. Big speakers move more air, and can generate meaningful bass - headphones simply can't do that.

Not necessarily looking for the amount of bass, but how the bass is produced. Strong but clean and crisp, not muddy.

Seems most reviewers say that the Airpods Max’s bass is clean and not muddy. Wondering if someone who has listened to both the Max and Phantom can comment on how the bass compares.

It’s reasonable bass but nowhere as clean esp. for tracks with extremely low frequencies where the Devialet will excel and the APM will lose some fidelity.

Damn, was hoping for at least close enough. Anyway, will have to find a pair to try out before buying then. Thanks
