I don't know if it's the new firmware update, I haven't used my APM in about two weeks. I tried them today after listening to music with APP2 since those launched. And the sound volume and bass seems to be much softer/lower than I remember. I had to bring the volume up to 90% when I was listening to APP2 at around 60-70% and that was loud for me.

Anyone else?

I am having this issue too.
Hopefully Apple will be able to replace them at no cost since it was their firmware that rendered your AP Maxes barely functional. Thankfully, mine remain superb after the update.

I just think the AP Max is more of a beta product. My experience with it had been hit and misses. My first pair kept disconnecting and reconnecting, when I lift one side of the cup, the whole headphone would restart. Got a replacement set from Apple, same thing happened. Recently under the latest firmware (5B59), there would be a loud static from the headphone once in a while. Overall, a very buggy product for me at least.

I'm not experiencing the same. I use my APM 95% of the time. Only when I know I'm going to be active will I use the AirPods Pro. APM are so much more comfortable and the ANC is better.

I had a very similar experience when I finally decided to purchase AirPods Max about two months ago. I contacted Apple soon after I bought them as every time I even slightly adjusted them on my ears, they would disconnect. Luckily the new (refurb) pair they sent to me via express replacement hasn't had those issues.

How long are you able to keep them on before discomfort? I know it’s different for everyone. But just curious. Debating on not getting APP2 and just going for APM. Comfort, ANC, and mic quality is important for me.
